Dear Members:

Happy Thanksgiving to all and I wish everyone a special day tomorrow with family and friends.  Both Katie and Tanner want to put the Christmas tree up, I guess the holiday season has begun.

 As the holiday season approaches, the Pro Shop has many items that would make great gifts for the golfer in your life.  Every item is on sale and lots to choose from.  I know spring seems far away but a package of 3 golf lessons would make a great gift as well.  It is always good to start the season off with some instruction to prepare for lower scores during season. 

 The Christmas brunch is just around the corner on December 11.  Enjoy great food from Chef Mike Harris. The food and service are fantastic with both breakfast and dinner items to choose from.  If you have tried our brunches before, thank you, if you not I encourage you to give it a try.  I promise you will not be disappointed.  I hope to see you there.

 As I type I cannot stop thinking of all the wonderful people here at the LPN/LPA and all of those who have left us as well.  Life is so fragile.

The Links Restaurant & Lounge:

The Links Restaurant & Lounge is open to the public. The restaurant offers a relaxed atmosphere and quality of service to our patrons. The menu offers a wide selection of appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, buffet specials and dinner entrees that are sure to please any person’s taste buds. The Links offers a full service bar and a number of televisions to watch your favorite sport.

The restaurant also has an award winning sandwich in the State of Iowa. The Pork Tenderloin Sandwich was named 1^st Runner Up in the Iowa Pork Producers Association Best Breaded Pork Tenderloin contest.

Christmas Brunch:

Spikes:

Spikes is officially closed for the reminder of the season. 

Food and beverage can be purchased either in the pro shop or at the Links Restaurant & Lounge.

Lake Panorama National Inn & Suites:

Lake Panorama National Inn & Suites offers on site lodging accommodations for your stay at the Resort.  The lodging facilities overlook the magnificent golf course and are located within walking distance of the Conference Center and Links Restaurant & Lounge.

Lake Panorama National Inn & Suites offers two bedroom/two bathroom town homes or motel units that feature two double beds or one queen bed.  All guests at the Resort have access to the many amenities the Resort offers.

Fitness & Exercise Room:

Fall Hours of Operation:

            Tuesday – Saturday:   8:00 AM to 8:00 PM

            Sunday & Monday:    9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

The fitness & exercise room currently has ten machines that will help you improve your health and fitness level.  You may pay a daily fee to use the fitness room or purchase a membership.  Memberships are available for a year, six months, three months, or monthly.  Membership categories include single, couple, and family. 

Membership information may be obtained by calling 641-755-2080 or by stopping at the lodging desk on the main floor of the Conference Center.

Lake Panorama National Golf Course:

Lake Panorama National Golf Course is the main attraction at the Resort and offers one of the best-conditioned courses in the state of Iowa. In 2008, a double row irrigation system was installed making even better course conditions for players of all skill levels. Golf Digest gives the magnificent golf course a 4-Star Rating on it’s Places to Play in America. The golf course is truly a “must play” course in Iowa.

Lake Panorama National Golf Course is the host of the Iowa Open Golf Championship.  The Iowa Section PGA and Brokers International Ltd. signed a five year deal in 2009 to host the Iowa Open at Lake Panorama.  Brokers International Ltd. will be the title sponsor of the championship from 2010 to 2014. 

The Brokers International Ltd. Iowa Open will be played August 18 - 21, 2011.  The Iowa Section PGA, Brokers International Ltd. and Lake Panorama National Resort are excited for year two of the championship as it will continue to get bigger and better every year.

Winter Golf Course Conditions:

The Golf Course will remain open for play as long as weather and course turf conditions permit.

In our annual effort to protect our turfgrass during the winter months and ensure course conditions are optimal for next spring, the following maintenance has begun.

Mon/Tues, November 21st and 22nd Heavy Top Dressing of all the greens.

The Top Dress will remain on the greens over the winter for turf protection. The Top Dressing will help protect the blades of grass by not exposing the crown of the plant. Even though the course is open, the top dressing is required for our greens and will hopefully help and limit the damage to the plant’s crown caused by foot traffic.

Starting Monday, November 21st, CART PATH ONLY.

All golf carts must remain on the cart paths during your round. This also includes remaining on the paths to and from the golf course. The irrigation system has been shut down for the winter. Therefore, it is very important that golf cart traffic remain off the turf.

Remember: Golf cart tracks made in November will still be visible in the spring.

We hope the weather provides a couple more days of golf and we ask that everyone help protect our turf during the upcoming winter months
