Dear Members:
We have been pleasantly surprised of how nice the fall weather has been and I hope you have been out enjoying the nice golfing weather. If you have been out, you have noticed that the golf course is in fine shape and the greens are fantastic.
October is here and it is hard to imagine that the holiday season is just around the corner. The LPN golf shop has many items that would make a great gift for the golfer in mind. The golf shop is running specials throughout the rest of the season.
This year has certainly been interesting one to say the least. The ice, rain, and construction has made this year a challenge. Even with the above mentioned we had a decent year and are looking forward to next year with many events and bookings already on the calendar. The LPN will be sending out 2009 membership applications in the next few months with an opportunity for you to take advantage of early payment discounts.
Some plans for the future are to have personal winter cart storage for members wishing to store their cart for the winter. We also plan to offer limited cart storage for the 2009 season. Details will follow as soon as everything is finalized.
Next Tuesday, October 14 we are going to have our annual clean up day at the golf course. Plans are to start at 9:00 AM and work till early afternoon. Anyone wishing to volunteer their time is welcome to help. We have plenty to do…..
On a side note, I would like to offer condolences to the Harris family with the passing of Bill Harris. Bill was a friend and co-worker at the LPN having worked here for ten plus years. He will be missed by all. God bless him and his family.

The fitness & exercise room currently has ten machines that will help you improve your health and fitness level. You may pay a daily fee to use the fitness room or purchase a membership. Memberships are available for a year, six months, three months, or monthly. Membership categories include single, couple, and family.

Lake Panorama National Golf Course:
Great golf and weather is still hanging around this fall so we encourage you to take advantage of it at Lake Panorama National. Our October rates allow you to play all day so come on out and enjoy the golf course that is in great condition. This fall we have only aerated two greens on the golf course. The rest of the greens are in perfect shape and the other two greens are coming back to normal.

(onepar 3, one par 4, and one par 5 on each side). These holes are determinedafter tee off and will remain hidden until completion of play.
How it works (Example):Ed shoots 14 over par on the Blind Six Holes. His Gross Score is 108. Theamount over par (14) is multiplied by 3 which equals 42. Therefore, Ed'sHerky Handicap is 42. Ed subtracts 42 from 108 and this gives him a netscore of: 66.Note: A player is not allowed to score more than a gross triple bogey.Once a player reaches the maximum score of triple bogey on a hole, he orshe may pick up ball and move to the next tee.
Additional rule: Hole #12 will be played by the Men from the Blue Tee.The Women will tee from the Red. Each player (men and women) are allowed one FREE throw on Hole #12. The throw can be used anywhere except from thetee box.

3rd Annual International Talk Like a Pirate Day Miller Lite Open:
Thank You to all that played in our 3rd Annual Talk Like a Pirate Day Open. We had a great turnout and the pirate crew’s enjoyed great weather and golf.
Congratulations to the crew of Bill Douglass, Royce Shaffer, Kane Powell, and Tyler Brooks for winning the Miller Lite Open. They shot a smooth 59 with 2”, 4” and 8” cups. Winning the 2nd Flight, Joe Dooley, Ken Schettley, Justin Bruning, and James Weaver. The most challenged crew was Dave Wagler, Shanell Wagler, Tracy Welberg, and Deb Douglass.
Congratulations to the Best Pirate Ship Mike Monthei, Best Pirate Kevin Sherlock, and Best Pirate Woman Tracy Welberg.
The winning team received a treasure chest full of goodies to be enjoyed by the crew. Once again, we had great pirate ship decoration and pirate costumes making this event a blast. We look forward to seeing all the crew’s back next year.
