Dear Members:
First of all, happy 4th to all members and I wish everyone a happy and safe holiday weekend. The golf course is almost booked full with tee times and with a reception on Saturday night, the LPN should have a busy weekend.
The LPN is half way thru the 2009 calendar year and thanks to your continued support your organization is doing well despite the rough economic times. Your golf course has seen an increase in rounds played so far this year and the restaurant is having another successful year with more meals served. If conditions remain the same, I anticipate rounds played during 2009 to top 26,000.
The golf course continues to remain in great condition and I played last evening in league. The conditions are ideal and I might add that the greens are rolling the best I have seen in a long time. I congratulate Dan Wollner and Brandon Waddle for their superb job on the course. Tees, fairways, and greens are in great shape and the break in the heat should do nothing but help course conditions in the near future.
Summer is in full swing and I hope all can enjoy the course and the wonderful amenities we have here at the lake.

The Links Restaurant & Lounge:
The Links Restaurant & Lounge is open to the public. The restaurant offers a relaxed atmosphere and quality of service to our patrons. The menu offers a wide selection of appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, buffet specials and dinner entrees that are sure to please any person’s taste buds. Your LPN Staff is preparing for another exciting year and looking forward to serving all of you in 2009. Our facility will host numerous Member events just for you and a number of PGA, Senior PGA TOUR, IGA, IWGA, Collegiate and Iowa High School competitions, corporate and charitable outings. Once again, proving LPN is one of the finest facilities in Iowa and is undeniably the choice for those who value a membership that has so much to offer.
As you know, an active membership relies on the support of its members. Your membership is an investment for LPN’s future and we believe an investment that demands a return. That is why the Staff at LPN is working diligently to ensure your 2009 golf season will be the best one ever!
Your Staff is once again accepting a limited amount of Special Memberships as part of our 2009 Membership Drive. This Membership applies to those who were not LPN Members in 2008. This is an excellent opportunity for you to invite new members to our community and have them come to the same conclusions that we have—LPN is a great place to be a Member! You will receive a $50 credit for every new membership you sign-up during the membership drive. You will also receive 2 free rounds of golf upon receipt of your 2009 membership application and payment. You may use these rounds to recruit new members.
In addition to the Special Membership, we are continuing the offer of Distance Memberships for 2009. This Membership applies to those who are not LPA Members and do not have a residence within 18 miles of LPN.

The next Friday Couples is scheduled for Friday, July 17, 2009 with a shotgun start at 5:30 PM. The format for the night is Sadie Hawkins with a 2-Person Best Shot. Sadie Hawkins means women must invite a man other than their husband to be on her two person team.

In 2008, 116 children and adults who would not have had the insurance coverage or personal resources to receive therapy or therapeutic services were assisted by Timber Creek Charities. The golf tournament is the largest annual fundraiser for the charity.
Cost is $75 per person or $300 per team. Singles are welcome, and will be assigned to a team. The fee includes 18 holes of golf, golf cart, range balls, lunch and dinner. Tee box sponsorships are available for $100.
