Since October 1st, the season has certainly come to a sudden stand still, although golfers are still playing on the marginal days and the course is in great shape. The course will continue to stay open until the weather tells us otherwise.
The Links Restaurant continues to be a popular place to dine and I want to thank you for your continued support. Starting in November, we will be offering South of the Border Wednesday and That’s Italian Thursdays. See below for further details. The Links will be closed on Saturday, October 31st and Saturday, November 14th for wedding receptions.
The Holidays are just around the corner so if you need anything from a place to host a holiday party to gifts from the pro shop, we have it here at the LPN.

Volunteer Help for the Brokers International Ltd. Iowa Open:
The 2010 Brokers International Ltd. Iowa Open will be held at LPN on August 19-22, 2010. Leroy Oxley, Tournament Chairman, is now signing up volunteers for the championship. There will be many volunteer opportunities and we would like to get those interested signed up as soon as possible so committees can be formed.
We expect we will need volunteers for housing, hospitality, scoring, marshals, spotters, player shuttles, driving range attendants, registrations/greeters, standard bearers and much more.
If you would like to serve as a volunteer, please contact Leroy at 755-2577.
The Links Restaurant & Lounge:The Links Restaurant & Lounge is open to the public. The restaurant offers a relaxed atmosphere and quality of service to our patrons. The menu offers a wide selection of appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, buffet specials and dinner entrees that are sure to please any person’s taste buds. The Links offers a full service bar and a number of televisions to watch your favorite sport.
The restaurant also has an award winning sandwich in the State of Iowa. The Pork Tenderloin Sandwich was named 1st Runner Up in the Iowa Pork Producers Association Best Breaded Pork Tenderloin contest.

Spikes:
Spikes is officially closed for the reminder of the season unless mother nature brings us a lot of warm weather. Spikes completed its first full year and we heard a ton of compliments about what the building adds to LPN. Thank you to everyone that was involved in the project in 2008.
Spikes can also be rented for private parties or events. If you are interested in hosting an event at Spikes, please give John Dinnebier a call at 800-879-1917

The fitness & exercise room currently has ten machines that will help you improve your health and fitness level. You may pay a daily fee to use the fitness room or purchase a membership. Memberships are available for a year, six months, three months, or monthly. Membership categories include single, couple, and family.
Membership information may be obtained by calling 641-755-2080 or by stopping at the lodging desk on the main floor of the Conference Center.
Lake Panorama National Golf Course:
Lake Panorama National Golf Course is the main attraction at the Resort and offers one of the best-conditioned courses in the state of Iowa. In 2008, a double row irrigation system was installed making even better course conditions for players of all skill levels. Golf Digest gives the magnificent golf course a 4-Star Rating on it’s Places to Play in America. The golf course is truly a “must play” course in Iowa.
Lake Panorama National Golf Course is now the host of the Iowa Open Golf Championship. Just recently, the Iowa Section PGA and Brokers International Ltd. signed a five year deal to host the Iowa Open at Lake Panorama. Brokers International Ltd. will be the title sponsor of the championship from 2010 to 2014.
The Brokers International Ltd. Iowa Open will be played August 19 – 22, 2010. The Iowa Section PGA, Brokers International Ltd. and Lake Panorama National Resort are excited to bring the championship back to Lake Panorama National Golf Course.

2009 Women’s League:
The 2009 Women’s League is all wrapped up and what a year. Each Thursday night the ladies were treated with great weather, golf and food along with prizes for birdies, chip-ins and those other “fun” prizes.
The league finished up with the Senior Shoot-Out last Thursday with the regular shoot-out and awards dinner the week before that. The Women’s Golf page has been updated with Shoot-Out, League, and Special Event winners for the year. Check out the page to see who were the big winners in 09.
